Stryker hip lawsuits allege that the Rejuvenate and ABG II modular hip implants were defectively designed. The modular neck design caused metal-on-metal corrosion, releasing metal debris into surrounding tissue.
In 2012, Stryker voluntarily recalled both products. The company paid $1.43 billion to settle claims. Patients who required revision surgery or developed metallosis may still be eligible for compensation.
